Business Support - Child in Need/Child Protection Team
We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent part time business support role within the Children's Services Child in Need & Child Protection Team based at Macclesfield Town Hall, Market Place, SK10 1EA.
The role involves providing administrative support to the Social Work Team enabling the most efficient use of their professional time and helping to develop a team identity including the provision of central communication links for the public and professional agencies.
You will be completing daily tasks of the below.
1. Word processing provision; letters, legal documents and child related documentation.
2. Telephone communication and enable effective liaison.
3. Maintaining filing systems.
4. Support finances via an Imprest account, Purchase Card, and financial systems.
5. Updating client/service users' database.
6. Servicing and minuting meetings.

The job is a pivotal and valuable one and the role varies from arranging meetings, booking appointments, data entry, word processing and general administrative support, the ordering of resources, arranging drug and alcohol tests, minuting meetings, taking telephone calls, diary management and support funds via financial systems.
We use several ICT platforms daily to enter and/or evaluate data, maintain service user records, and gather and share accurate and sensitive information with other professional agencies such as the Police, Education and Health services.
You will need to be able to work well under pressure and be able to deal with a high volume of calls from members of the public who may at times be distressed or anxious and experiencing family difficulties. You will also have regular contact with a range of education, health and social care professionals and so will need the ability to adapt your responses accordingly.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, confident in handling and protecting sensitive information, be able to adapt to change and have excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high capacity to deliver within defined deadlines.
Knowledge of word processing, document management and proven effective administrative and financial experience is essential and working with systems such as Liquid Logic is desirable.
You will need to be flexible, be able to prioritise your workload and be a team player.
