JR236: Project Manager
Location: Eccleshall, ST15, Staffordshire
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Per Annum
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Project Manager on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle through application of Orbital standards and processes.
2. Control of Scope, Timescales and Budget to customer satisfaction and optimising Orbital's resources.
3. Deliver successful projects through the facilitation of the internal delivery functions ensuring successful and timely delivery through clear requirements definition and internal relationship management.
4. Maximise profitability of the contract and achieve a satisfactory cash flow through regular budget cost control, forecasting, and cost-saving measures.
5. Demonstrate successful and sustainable customer relationships and satisfaction ratings.
6. Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, on cost, and on quality in line with the customer and Orbital agreed programme of work, while ensuring we deliver on our corporate social responsibility in all areas.
7. Adhere to the current engineering planning process.
8. Ensure that the project requirements are correctly understood, recorded, and signed off by the customer.
9. Forecast, monitor, and control all project costs and prepare internal monthly project status reports and participate in the internal financial processes.
10. Ensure project schedules are met, maintain up-to-date knowledge on project progress, and prepare regular client project progress reports.
11. Monitor the project design and production to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with contract specifications and original cost estimates.
12. Liaise with the Procurement department to ensure that procurement of equipment, materials, and services is carried out effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Strong Technical Background, preferably in C&I / Process Engineering.
2. At least 5 years' experience in delivering projects.
3. Strong leadership skills and can demonstrate effective customer management.
4. Able to coach and mentor a small team and all involved stakeholders.
5. Effective listening, communication, and analytical skills.
6. Scheduling experience including working knowledge of MS Project or equivalent.
7. Qualified Prince2, APM practitioner or similar.
8. HNC or Degree qualified & significant experience.
