What you'll be doing We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Group Sales Operations department as Trade Operations Manager. This pivotal role works across 8 Hachette publishing divisions providing a vital link between UK sales, group inventory, distribution and retailers. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Manage Key Account orders across all trade divisions, ensuring fulfilments are delivered in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner. Oversee a team handling a broad range of sales operations tasks and roles, ensuring the successful delivery of trade operation requirements. Develop a deep understanding of the team's responsibilities, ensuring operations are managed effectively and processes run smoothly. Provide day-to-day direction, workflow management, and support to the team, acting as a point of escalation when required, while maintaining full oversight of team workflows. Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and updating departmental procedures and effectively monitoring workflow. Who we are looking for We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our fast-paced central Sales Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and refine key operational processes across multiple divisions, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of sales and operations across the group. Key skills and experience: A relevant background in Sales Operations within publishing, media, or retail. Publishing experience is advantageous but not essential. Previous management experience, with an emphasis on support, motivation, and development. Strong judgement, authority, and credibility, with the ability to build rapport at all levels with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise shifting workloads in a fast-changing environment. Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, able to communicate decisions clearly and succinctly. Capable of contributing to and leading supply chain decisions and changes, ensuring customer needs are met and business priorities are considered.
