THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced and innovative Front-End Staff Engineer to play a central role in the future of our front-end solutions and drive the development of cutting-edge user interfaces. You will join the Client Experience group working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and back-end engineers, to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performance-driven web applications. In this role, you will be a technical driver, mentor, and hands-on contributor, shaping the architecture and future direction of our front-end technology stack. RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Stewardship : Lead architectural design and implementation of front-end related solutions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance. Development & Design : Build responsive, accessible, and dynamic web interfaces using React with Typescript and Rescript. Build, maintain and optimize our shared design library. Code Review & Best Practices : Promote best practices in front-end engineering including clean, modular, and maintainable code. Conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards, and optimize the development workflow. Performance Optimization : Ensure high performance of applications across a variety of browsers and devices. Optimize code for speed and scalability. Stay Engaged : Stay current with emerging front-end technologies and trends, recommending new tools and frameworks to improve the development process. Thrive in a collaborative remote-first environment. Stakeholder Communication : Communicate technical challenges and solutions to technical as well as non-technical stakeholders. Provide guidance on complex technical issues. Developer Productivity : Identify and drive initiatives to increase productivity across the front end engineering organization. Build, optimize, and maintain elegant abstractions, shareable libraries, robust APIs and internal tools. IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES 8 years of relevant software development experience building, optimizing, and scaling responsive web applications Track record of driving projects with an improvement mindset and promoting a solution-oriented approach to ambiguity. Extensive experience with the following technologies: React, Typescript, Next.js, Jest (plus points for Rescript knowledge) as well as front-end CI/CD tool chain. Experience identifying and prioritizing issues with broad cross-team and organizational impact. Significant working knowledge of GraphQL. Experience building and maintaining design libraries with an emphasis on accessibility. Deep familiarity with DevOps and application deployment models (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS).
