Procurement Category Manager - IT (9 month FTC) | £55,000 to £63,000 | excellent benefits | Central London - 2 to 3 days in the office | Global fortune 500 Media Group
An amazing new role working for a truly global Fortune 500 media business, who own handfuls of prestigious brands that are recognised anywhere across the globe.
For this role, they are looking for energetic, ambitious and high-potential procurement candidates to look at their category vertical, implement a strategic approach and engage with stakeholders in category planning and getting the best out of their suppliers.
Full spectrum of IT categories: Software, Digital, Applications, Editorial Media, Broadcasting, Infrastructure, Telco and Hardware
Role and responsibilities:
* Create relevant category strategies through to the delivery and performance including year on year annualised savings
* Develop category plans and strategies to ensure alignment for the group, leveraging suppliers to support local offices
* Support the development of category strategies to a clear and prioritised pipeline of sourcing projects
* Engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders from Director to Board level to ensure buy-in, utilising strong market knowledge
* Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a rounded knowledge of a suppliers performance
* Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback
* Be a Procurement role model by living company values, consistently delivering to the high standards expected, promoting procurement through relationships
* On top over delivering strategic projects, ensure the business is getting the best service in line with cost efficiency
Experience and requirements:
* Worked for a large, complex and multi-site business
* Category experience in IT, Technology or broadcasting areas
* Ability to engage, negotiate and influence senior stakeholders up to Director level+
* Strong stakeholder management, using different approaches to type, level and maturity of relationship
* Analytical mindset and have strong communication skills to present ideas to the business
* Worked in a large and cross-functional procurement team
* MCIPS qualification nice to have, but not essential
