FRONT OF HOUSE SUPERVISOR @ NORTHERN MARKET
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Leeds, The Northern Market
Pay: £13 an hour, 37.5 hours a week
Closing date: 16th January 2025
THE ROLE:
The Northern Market is our newest venue in Leeds, and we are expanding our team and wanting someone to truly take control of the everyday running of the floor. We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service, as well as confidently having the ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment. We’re extremely proud of our craft and will be looking for people in the team that share our enthusiasm and drive for quality.
We also need you to share our passion in providing the best beer experiences for our customers, from welcoming them to the building to the cleanliness of the venue. We believe we have a strong internal culture, and the successful candidate will live out our values every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Guest Service:
o Greet and welcome guests warmly and professionally.
o Monitor guest satisfaction levels and proactively address any issues.
o Build rapport with regular guests and foster a loyal customer base.
o Maintain a high level of professionalism over the bar, on the floor and in all correspondence.
* Team Management:
o Supervise and guide service staff, including servers, bartenders, and bussers.
o Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate daily specials, table assignments, and any important information.
o Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
o Assist with staff training and development.
o Resolve any staff conflicts or issues promptly and professionally.
o Be the first point of contact for staff during shifts and manage staff to ensure time is used effectively.
* Operations Management:
o Ensure efficient and timely service throughout the venue.
o Monitor food and beverage quality and presentation.
o Assist with table management and ensuring proper table turns.
o Assist with opening and closing procedures and inventory checks.
o Maintain a clean and organised environment.
o Follow event plans given by our Event Coordinator.
o Maintain a high level of organisation and cleanliness in the building through audits and closedown checks and weekly/monthly logs.
o Work with the management team to drive up venue standards.
* Communication:
o Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including management, kitchen staff, and service staff.
o Maintain open and honest communication with guests.
o Provide accurate and timely information to management regarding any operational issues or concerns.
* Other Duties:
o Assist with special events and functions as needed.
o Perform other duties as assigned by management.
o Safely handle kegs in a cellar environment.
o Assist in the maintenance and development of the venue when requested.
o Assist with all other areas of the venue as requested.
o Reply to messages on social media professionally and promptly if required by management.
o Be knowledgeable and passionate about our product range and ensure customers receive a high standard of customer service.
o Take responsibility for bar service whenever required by management.
o Take sole responsibility for shifts as and when required by management, including site security and emergency situations.
o Create a safe environment for staff and customers.
o Adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws.
o Attend and contribute to team meetings when required and share best practice with the team.
