Employment & Global Mobility Tax Associate Manager

Job Summary
An Employee Tax (ET) Associate Manager will be part of the global tax team within the Finance department. ET are subject matter experts in areas including income and social taxes, equity tax planning, compensation & benefits tax planning, position and policy setting, and internal and external audit management for domestic (e.g., UK employees) and cross-border assignees. ET are accountable for the internal provision of employee and payroll tax advice to manage tax risk and compliance for Accenture.
The Associate Manager role will work with the London-based ET team to support the UK & Ireland. The Associate Manager will partner with the on-shore and off-shore Global Mobility (GM) service delivery teams and Employment Law (EL) teams, providing guidance and direction on the development, controls, and oversight of our mobility compliance programs. The Associate Manager will also work closely with local Payroll and Reward teams to provide guidance on the tax treatment of employee benefits, rewards, and expenses.
Responsibilities:
* Advise client engagement teams for informed staffing decisions.
* Determine tax planning opportunities for complex/executive cross-border assignments.
* Provide employee tax planning and risk management to minimize tax costs for Accenture.
* Advise payroll and reward teams on income and social tax implications of rewards and benefits programs.
* Interpret legal and regulatory changes and collaborate across functions to maintain compliance under new laws, regulations, and policies.
* Ensure control points are effective for managing risk and compliance with GM operations and payroll teams.
* Supervise the management of tax vendor relationships.
* Provide input on tax implications for mobility-related policies.
* Review and advise on cross-border tax and employment tax implications for companies acquired by Accenture under V&A.
* Assess employment tax status of contractors in line with IR35 guidelines.
Qualifications:
* University degree or equivalent higher education qualification; ideally a professional qualification such as ACA, CIMA, CTA, ATT, etc.
* Strong experience with a global mobility tax or employment tax team within Big 4 or in a large multinational corporation (equivalent level within Big 4 would be Manager). Experience in either mobility or employment tax is essential.
* International tax, expat tax, and employment tax knowledge.
* Income and social tax advisory and international tax technical experience.
* Experience in payroll (modified or domestic).
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Strong conflict management, customer service, and advisory skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organizational abilities and ability to work to tight deadlines while multi-tasking.
* Experience working with a remote, multi-cultural team is desirable.
* Strong knowledge of common applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
