The Growth Company’s (GC) Justice Services is excited to offer a fantastic new opportunity for a support worker. In this role, you will provide one-to-one and group support for participants, delivering a range of information, guidance, and training that contributes to their journey and progression into employment, training, and education within our Creating Future Opportunities (CFO) Evolution Programme.
We make a lasting difference in the lives of people across the North of England by helping individuals gain meaningful employment. Our skilled advisers and keyworkers assist a range of individuals, from those recently out of work to those facing complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health, and debt.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with and case manage participants to provide advocacy, mentoring, advice, guidance, and training interventions that support their progression towards education, training, and sustained employment.
* Establish and deliver both group and one-to-one activities as part of participant interventions, including initial assessments and action plans.
* Engage with community, voluntary sector, and mainstream ETE support and services to ensure participants receive the necessary support to overcome barriers and progress.
* Deliver services within community and voluntary sector venues to ensure availability across a wider area.
* Identify individual learning needs and create action plans, plan training and other interventions, and develop supportive relationships with participants.
* Record interventions and activities on the CRM system, coordinate further activities, and provide ongoing support for participants to implement future courses of action.
* Facilitate learning in groups to improve communication, social interaction, employability, and progression through presentations and activities.
* Network, market, and promote the service to partner organisations and participants, and carry out associated administration work, including report-writing and evaluation of service delivery.

* Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a target-driven environment, with a focus on the successful achievement of outcomes for participants.
* A warm, approachable, empathetic style and the ability to establish a rapport and build relationships with participants that supports their progression to education, training, and employment and facilitates desistance from crime.
Skills Required
* Information Advice and Guidance and/or teaching qualifications (or equivalent) desired, but experience working intensively with individuals and supporting their progression is most important.
* High-level guidance skills, with the ability to deliver one-to-one and group sessions to at least Grade 2 standard.
* Experience working with offenders, or those disaffected and marginalised from mainstream services, in training, guidance, advice, and counselling environments.
* Knowledge of National Probation Services or HM Prison environments and/or training, education, and employment opportunities locally and nationally, and of training and guidance.
