Job Description Atkins have an exciting opportunity for a Client Director to focus on key client management, business development and thought leadership within the International Water market. A growing element of our Water Consultancy work is undertaken outside of the UK. Working with the World’s leading Water providers, Atkins is creating sustainable water and wastewater solutions fit for the Net Zero World. Our work consists of both working in partnership with our Worldwide businesses and directly for overseas clients. Our portfolio is diverse, and covers both developed and developing countries, including in North America, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia and Central/Eastern Europe, and public and private sector clients the work is varied, both big and small projects, and includes: Feasibility and Design. Sustainability. Project preparation and development. Master plans and investment plans. Infrastructure development (throughout the whole project cycle). Procurement and Transaction advice. Climate resilience planning. Economic and financial modelling. The role of Client Director would suit candidates that are motivated by the opportunity to drive the expansion of our business. You will have experience of client management, winning, managing, and delivering projects in the above areas, and with the capability in one or more of our core areas of technical, commercial and economic advisory services which we offer to clients to assist them with infrastructure development. The position is based in the UK – ideally from London or Epsom but we can be flexible around UK locations. Candidates must be open to frequent international travel and periods of time abroad. Responsibilities: Key client management. Business Development. Leading, managing and delivering bids and projects in the above areas. Supporting colleagues with project delivery, technical inputs and resourcing management. Identifying, generating, and developing business opportunities and market propositions. Maintaining compliance with Atkins’ corporate processes. Providing thought leadership. Maintaining and growing a network of contacts within Atkins, and with prospective clients and potential partners organisations. Commercial and financial management. Working collaboratively as part of a close knit team and supporting the achievement of collective group goals. Requirements: Experience working with international clients in delivering water infrastructure projects overseas, with strong consultancy operational experience. Proven ability to build and grow a potential client network and of identifying early stage opportunities. Developing countries – particular experience in countries where we have a strong focus such as in the Middle East, Africa and Asia would be a considerable advantage. Track record in winning, managing or developing small and large international projects to time and budget in various countries, ideally including developing countries. Specific experience winning, managing, or developing water/wastewater projects or programmes. Outstanding consulting skills - including structured thinking, report writing and stakeholder communication. Proven ability to form alliances and working partnership both within and without the employing organisation. Strong working experience of D&B projects and delivering to Contractor clients would be an advantage. Strong project financial management skills. Understanding of risk management. Influencer, with a network of contacts that can support the identification, the development and delivery of work. Leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams. Self-motivated, with the initiative and resilience to support the growth of our business and Openness to frequent international travel.
