Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee Construction Risk Manager - EO Risk Solutions The Opportunity QBE Europe is currently recruiting for a Construction Risk Manager to join our EO Casualty & Construction Risk Solutions team. As a Risk Manager, you will be providing support for the Casualty & Construction Senior Risk Managers and Underwriting teams by assisting with identification and management of key risks associated with various construction insurance policy coverages. You will assist the Construction Senior Risk Managers with the management of Major and Corporate Customer construction accounts through the provision of risk management evaluations, surveys and services to help improve the risk profile of our customers and to support business retention and acquisition. The role provides an exciting development opportunity, technical construction insurance training will be provided. Your new role Supporting Senior Risk Managers (SRMs) with the account management of our Major and Corporate Customer construction accounts. Assisting with reviews regarding insured perils such as fire, water damage, moisture damage, natural perils, security exposures, quality and environmental issues. Undertaking risk engineering activities including, but not limited to, facilitating, joining and conducting project site surveys, and assisting with technical desktop reviews. Assisting with evaluating clients’ risk control measures in line with industry best practice guidance, including provision and monitoring of identified Risk Improvements and opportunities. Overseeing the workflow process for client Risk Solutions activity via our reporting platform – QRisk. Recording of risk management activities and data on the appropriate systems in order to ensure the client work is recorded and visible to the wider client teams. Remaining up to date with current industry best practice documentation and loss prevention guidance including identifying emerging trends. About you Relevant construction, civil engineering or risk management qualifications - minimum BEng, BSc or NVQ Level 5 or equivalent. Relevant industrial experience in construction, civil engineering or insurance risk management is preferential. Strong working knowledge and insights of construction risks and risk management practices including innovative methods and materials. Strong working knowledge of actively managing construction site health, safety and wellbeing risks is preferable. This can be supported with the candidate holding, or willing to obtain the NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate. Able to demonstrate the ability to manage technical issues, negotiations and problem solve in an effective and efficient manner. The role requires a willingness to travel throughout the UK (and further afield if required) to assist with providing services to clients and to support our Underwriting teams at various offices.
