Hays Senior Finance are working with an established and profitable company who are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. The business has shown consistent and regular growth over the last 20 years and is a trusted supplier to a range of clients across the UK. Duties:
* To ensure financial controls and procedures within the company are robust, sustainable, maintained and continually developed to take account of changing requirements.
* To implement and control changes to the departmental structures, policies, systems and procedures to ensure that the department continually improves its ability to meet key objectives.
* Ensure routine accounting information is produced promptly and accurately including monthly management accounts.
* Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
* Ensure the Company meets its UK and International VAT and Tax obligations.
* Prepare timely budgets, plans and cash flow forecasts.
* Administer the monthly payroll.
* Monitor the financial performance against plans and budgets and recommend actions.
* Effectively manage the company's currency risk and transactions and company cash flow.
* Effectively manage the AP function to support suppliers and minimise cost to the company.
* Effectively manage the AR function to control overdue debt and reduce the risk of bad debts.
* Effectively manage and motivate the finance team.
* Oversee the implementation of new controls as and when required, identifying gaps and contribute to the evolving nature of the finance function.
* Provide support for all M & A activity.
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
* Be a fully qualified accountant.
* Have strong written, communication and people management skills.
* At least 2 years general financial experience in industry.
* B2B or B2C business experience.
* International trade experience.
* Demonstrable achievements in improving company financial management.
* Excellent IT skills including office suite.
