JBT currently has a great opportunity for a Tool Designer to join the Proseal team just south of Manchester. Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry and has manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia.

Job Summary
Candidates will be developing CAD drawings for all Proseal machine tooling in accordance with our standard machinery or customer specifications. The drawings will involve mechanical and electrical layouts/schematics and equipment datasheets.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
1. Carrying out the design process and development for both new and existing products to ensure accuracy and quality.
2. Preparing bills of materials for the manufacture of designs and assemblies, including documenting part numbers and drawing references.
3. Liaising with colleagues to assist with potential quality issues through production.
4. Interpreting customer ideas and preparing drawings and 3D models for manufacture, including all dimensions, tolerances, finishes, and notes.
5. Assisting Managers and colleagues with product development matters.
6. Identifying opportunities to reduce costs in design, materials used, and manufacturing techniques.
7. Providing feedback for continuous improvement of products and services.

Qualifications/ Experience:
1. An Engineering Qualification ONC/HNC/HND
2. Minimum 2 years' engineering experience
3. Understanding of mechanical and/or Electrical installation
4. AutoCAD 2D design experience
5. Good understanding of 3D CAD design (Solidworks)
