A leading cybersecurity company is seeking a Chromium Browser Developer to play a key role in the development of a privacy-focused browser. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative browser features that enhance user security and privacy .
Location: Office-based role in Segensworth, Hampshire (PO15 5TT).
Key Responsibilities
Browser Development:
Develop and maintain features for a Chromium-based browser .
Implement security and privacy enhancements to protect users.
Optimize browser performance and resource usage.
Troubleshoot and resolve browser-related issues .
Stay up to date with Chromium development and security patches .
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code .
Collaboration & Integration:
Work with the browser extensions team to ensure seamless feature integration.
Maintain compatibility between the browser and extensions .
Collaborate with engineering teams to address cross-browser dependencies .
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Security & Privacy:
Identify and address security vulnerabilities within the browser.
Implement privacy-preserving features and safeguards.
Stay informed about emerging security threats and best practices.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
Write unit tests and integration tests to maintain high-quality code.
Participate in user acceptance testing and bug fixing .
Monitor browser performance and stability .
Contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks .
Skills & Experience:
Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong C++ proficiency .
Deep understanding of the Chromium open-source project (customisations to the build process, localisation techniques, custom extension APIs).
Experience in browser development and web technologies .
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Passion for security and privacy .
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 .
