An opportunity exists for an ambitious Quality Manager, sitting on the site Leadership team, taking a lead on all site quality activities and improvement initiatives, acting as the champion for the Quality Culture on site, whilst leading, motivating and mentoring the site quality team, ensuring clear objectives and talent development plans are in place for their continued success and retention. This is an all-encompassing quality role, involving improvement of the QMS, development of the audit system, close liaison with engineering and production to support 8D activities, management of KPIs around COPQ, scrap reduction and process improvement, customer and supplier quality liaison and ‘root cause’ corrective actions, customer liaison and concern resolution, warranty campaigns, as well APQP and launch activities with new product introduction. As a SLT member, it’s expected that the Quality Manager would actively seek to engage in best practice sharing with other international group sites. Key skills Preferably qualified to degree level or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline Previous experience as a Quality Manager or Quality Leader in a fast-paced assembly manufacturing setting Strong quality engineering toolkit – APQP, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, control plans Root cause problem solver, accustomed to employing techniques such as Ishikawa, 5 Why’s, A3, Pareto etc. Knowledge of IATF16949 would be useful An engaging and passionate leader of people, actively interested in coaching and mentoring a team to their full potential Process driven, able to implement and then monitor clear objectives and KPIs to bring robust structure and discipline to working practices Through effective communication skills, able to gain credibility with an international customer base Ability to evidence quantifiable achievement around a wide range of quality disciplines, improving quality performance, scrap reduction, reducing customer complaints, sustaining the use of proactive problem-solving tools, implementing preventative actions, and in the development of a proactive Quality team.
