We’re looking for a PR Specialist to join our External Affairs team. About the role and person: 35 hours per week Permanent As our PR Specialist, you’ll oversee Accent’s external reputation. If you are a confident PR professional who’s as equally happy seeking out positive opportunities to raise corporate profiles as you are forecasting and responding to risk, this role is for you. You’ll seek out proactive positive success stories, and amplify across our channels and via the media, crafting compelling narratives that reflect Accent’s values and support customer satisfaction. Excellent copywriting skills will be needed to create content and adapt messages to audiences and channels, working closely with the Communications and Public Affairs team to coordinate outputs. This role will require an understanding of the impact of public affairs and will monitor external events to respond appropriately, working closely with the press to build Accent’s profile in the media. For a full job description of this role please click here. Salary The spot salary for this post is £38,939 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary. What will you get from us? Sound PR and media relations experience with a strong understanding of how to navigate the media landscape. Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute successful public relations campaigns. Demonstrable crisis management and recovery experience and proven experience of managing reputational risk issues with national, regional, local and trade media. Experience of managing a Press Office, with ability to manage media enquiries and write statements A proactive person, who seeks out success stories to amplify our social purpose and promote our achievements, outcomes and contribution to the communities where we work Experienced copywriter with an eye for detail and the ability to work creatively under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to create quality content across the stakeholder mix via multiple channels including media releases, award entries, case studies, storytelling and thought-leadership pieces Strong interpersonal and stakeholder skills – ability to work effectively with different groups, both internal and external Self-starter, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team Location The successful candidate will be required to live within a commutable distance to one of our offices (Bradford, Burnley, Camberley, Peterborough, Stockton) with travel to other sites as required.
