Job Title: Legal Consultant - Legal Operations and Transformation Services
The role is for an experienced consultant to support the development and growth of our Legal Operations and Transformation Services (LOTS) practice. We are looking for someone to join our team who is eager to learn more about consulting in an industry that is undergoing huge disruption, and really develop their knowledge and expertise in legal operations transformation and technology.
We deal with all aspects of how an in-house legal function operates and support clients with optimising their operating model, the way they deliver legal services to the business and the selection and implementation of technology solutions. An integral service provided by our clients relates to contract management and we support legal and procurement teams in optimising and automating their contracting processes. You will provide support on projects working closely alongside senior members of the team, who will provide guidance and insight on the legal industry and contracting technology. This will provide you with the opportunity to build your knowledge of the legal industry and operating model transformation projects, as well as further develop your consulting skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
— Contributing to workstreams within complex, multi national engagements for our clients, comprising of multi-disciplinary global teams
— Providing insights on the development of legal and contracting operating models, service delivery models and the legal technology market for our clients undergoing legal transformation
— Contributing content for sections of deliverables (reports, workshops, presentations, tools etc) with oversight from senior members of the project team
— Project managing workstreams, programmes of change and projects for clients
— Supporting and contributing to the development of go-to market strategies, collateral, methodologies and alliance partner relationships
— Developing an understanding of legal benchmark and qualitative information to provide insights to clients
— Supporting the growth of the team through preparing materials for proposals, discussions with clients and workshops (both with clients and as part of the wider marketing strategy)
— Facilitating the use of technology during meetings e.g. slido, virtual whiteboards, break-outs etc.

3.1. Leadership & Management:
The role will report to Senior Manager, Legal Operations Transformation Services. The primary objective will be to support them on both small and large projects in a client facing role and develop impactful ways to present ideas to clients. You will also be expected to support the Managers and Senior Managers in day to day project activities and ad hoc tasks.
As the team and business grows, you will be expected to contribute to the development of a strong culture within the team, leading suggestions on team activities, involvement in wider KPMG initiatives and helping to raise the profile of the team generally within KPMG.
3.2. Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:
You will be expected to manage internal stakeholders all the way up to Partner level and to manage some clients directly, and be the key point of contact on projects, escalating to the Senior Manager as and when needed.
3.3. Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:
This role will assist in the growth and development of the LOTS practice, and Legal Services as a whole by extension.
You will understand and support the Senior Manager in managing project risks and engagement management activities.
4.1. Experience
Essential
— Bachelor’s degree qualification, or equivalent
— Experience in a consulting discipline at a Big 4 firm, major strategy firm or boutique firm
— Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design and execution
— High quality written and verbal communication skills
— Planning and project management experience
Desirable
— Understanding of legal, risk and compliance issues facing organisations
— Experience supporting technology implementations (business analysis, change management, configurations )
— Experience in managing business development activities (such as client meetings, proposals and marketing materials)
4.2. Expertise / Technical role requirements
— A project management qualification would be desirable but not essential
4.3. Skills:

— Experience in managing, communicating with and influencing internal and external stakeholders
— Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring consistent, top quality, deliverables
— Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team facing ambiguity and fluid situations when working with clients
