We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) qualification to join our team and provide valuable support to our pupils. As an LSA with ELSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning of pupils, particularly those with additional needs. Your role will include providing support for whole-class learning activities, as well as working with individuals or small groups of pupils, including those with identified learning or emotional needs. You will also be expected to support pupils with social and emotional learning, using the ELSA framework to provide targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support for Teaching and Learning:
Provide general support to teaching staff during whole-class activities, helping to facilitate pupil learning and ensuring all pupils are engaged.
Individual and Small Group Support:
Work with individuals or small groups of pupils, including those with special educational needs or emotional challenges, to support their academic progress and emotional development.
Emotional Support:
Use the ELSA framework to provide emotional support and interventions to pupils, helping them build resilience, self-regulation, and social skills.
Adaptation of Learning Materials:
Adapt resources and materials to suit the learning needs of individual pupils or groups, ensuring the content is accessible and appropriate.
Monitoring and Recording Progress:
Monitor pupils’ progress and development, both academically and emotionally, and report on their achievements to the class teacher and other relevant staff.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the teaching staff, to ensure a holistic approach to supporting pupils’ learning and well-being.
Promote Inclusion: Encourage positive behaviours, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging, fostering an inclusive environment for all pupils.
