Our food & beverage client has an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join its Regulatory team in an entry-level position. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in chemistry or a related scientific discipline who have an interest in the food industry and are looking to develop a career in regulatory and compliance.
As a Graduate Regulatory Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with global regulations, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting internal processes to manage product safety and information. Full training will be provided for candidates without prior regulatory experience.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Management:
* Create and maintain Safety Data Sheets, product specifications, labels, and other documents for customers, suppliers, and internal use in manufacturing.
Process Improvement:
* Continuously refine and manage internal processes to efficiently collect material information for manufacturing, optimising turnaround times.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Review supplier-provided information to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
Product and Change Control:
* Oversee new product and change control processes in collaboration with the team.
System Development:
* Support the development and implementation of IT systems to streamline product information management for technical, sales, and operations teams.
Technical Advisory:
* Provide technical guidance to the business regarding hazard information and regulatory compliance.
Experience & Education Required:
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, food science, or a related scientific discipline.
* Interest in the food industry and regulatory compliance.
* Analytical mindset with a systematic approach to tasks.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all work.
* Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organisation.
* Excellent time management and prioritisation capabilities.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
* Familiarity with chromatography and chemical analysis data.
* Understanding of global chemical legislation, including GHS, CLP, and REACH regulations (training provided if needed).
* Experience in supply classification and authoring safety data sheets.
* Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation requirements.
* Background in food or flavour legislation.
