You will be required to work at Preston Hospital & at the new Community Diagnostic Centre and may occasionally be required to work at Chorley Hospital. Some prior CT experience will be essential. Within the trust we have 4 static scanners and a mobile scanner. We also have a PMCT scanner. We undertake a variety of scans including major trauma, neurosurgical, oncology, vascular, cardiac and colonography. We actively promote role development and CPD by encouraging staff to undertake post graduate courses and further training. The department operates 24/7 & we require candidates to be flexible to meet the needs of the department. Current working patterns include long day, weekend and night shifts. Main duties of the job You will be responsible for the planning and allocation of work in the specific area of the department assigned, to ensure the timely delivery of an effective service. You will monitor and maintain standards of professional practice, supervise more junior staff and deploy staff assuring standards are met. As well as providing leadership and direction to the team, acting as a role model and patient advocate. This role requires you to assess, plan and make informed decisions on the required imaging examinations, providing advice and maintaining associated records. You will also be required to support the aims and vision of the Trust and to take personal responsibility for the quality of the service provided.
