About the Role As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will: Deliver engaging and tailored lessons in Maths, and English, focusing on Entry Level to Level 2 qualifications. Work closely with students with SEN, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning difficulties. Create a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages progress and independence. Collaborate with colleagues, SEN specialists, and support staff to develop individualized learning plans. Monitor and report on student progress, adapting your approach to ensure every learner achieves their full potential. What We’re Looking For To excel in this role, you should have: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent). Experience working with SEN students, preferably in a Further Education or adult learning environment. Strong knowledge of Functional Skills curriculum (Maths, English, ICT). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate learners. A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
