Role Specification
The role is based in Normanton, the northern hub for evo. This is the main site for all evo channels and some of the central services. The evo Event Manager is expected to be based there along with the central group marketing team. However, the employee will be required to travel to other Group locations to work alongside colleagues and for external meetings as appropriate.
The role reports into the Group Product Marketing Director. The successful candidate will be based predominantly in the Normanton office, 5 days a week.
evo Connects suppliers with their consumers through their buying, distribution, marketing and sales platform. evo’s role is…To Buy, To Store, To Sell and To Ship as the UK and Ireland’s leading supplier of business and people supplies, with a stock holding of over £35 Million, delivering 30,000 products to over 2000 customers, via their own fleet offering UK nationwide next day delivery coverage.
During 2024, evo launched their own group charity, evo Foundation. Within this role, the successful candidate will oversee the fundraising events required for evo Foundation, raising the profile of the evo Foundation whilst executing the yearly fundraising calendar.
Role Objective
evo is looking to recruit an in-house Event Manager to execute a variety of events. Working closely with the group marketing team, the successful candidate will oversee the execution of events throughout the group.
The evo event portfolio ranges from the annual 700-person industry leading exhibition, through to the smaller seasonal fundraising events for evo Foundation and travel bookings.
Overseeing all aspect of the event process, the successful candidate will take ownership of the full end-to-end event execution, including but not limited to, initial project requirements, venue find, delegate management, event marketing, site visits, project lead onsite, budget management and post event cascade.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Event operations: Ownership of event delivery from initial venue find through to on-site delivery. Ensure flawless and streamlined delivery across every project, whilst overseeing full event logistics, including but not limited to, travel booking, accommodation, content, virtual hybrid solutions, food & beverage, talent management, marketing and communications. Management of a portfolio of yearly events, including exhibitions, employee and customer incentives, co-ordination of oversees events, sporting events and much more.
* Stakeholder liaison: key point of contact for all suppliers, delegates and wider stakeholders.
* Budget management: ensuring finance is kept up to date throughout, whilst maximising profitability. Budget management upwards of £1M, whilst maximising profitability throughout key events and ensuring full reconciliation in a timely manner post event completion.
* Kick-off meetings: ensuring the right people and teams are involved at the relevant parts of the project.
* Communication: creating and producing all stakeholder communications. Briefing and managing relationships with both internal and external teams (AV, Production, Marketing, Design)
* Project Management: from initial planning process, through to on-site management, the successful candidate will lead on all events, tracking progress and ensuring that deadline dates are achieved allowing for project timelines to be completed. Creation of detailed project schedules and event logistic documents.
* Creative: supporting the creative concepts, briefing and inputting the creative team and 3rd parties. Followed by full print process being overseen.
* Health & Safety: full understanding of our duty of care, whilst completing risk assessments and event plans and potential emergency procedures that might be required whilst onsite.
* Event cascade: Post event, ensure that all follow up communications are undertaken, and event key information sent to those who could and couldn’t attend.
Person Specification
To be considered for this role Event Manager role, you must come with experience working closely with clients, making key decisions to impact the business and have worked in an event agency or in-house role previously.
