We are looking for a Turner/Machinist Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a time-served engineer with experience in machining, turning, and assembly of various parts and components. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a wide range of materials and machinery, and is capable of producing both new and replacement parts in low-volume batches. You will work from in-house prepared drawings, producing components that vary in type and complexity. The role involves using a variety of machinery and tools in our facility, with an emphasis on precision and quality. Key Responsibilities: Machining and Turning: Manufacture new and replacement parts, working with a wide range of components and assemblies. Machinery Operation: Operate various machinery in our facility, including: Reciprocal saw Milling machine CNC lathes Pillar drill Radial drill Materials: Work with materials such as bright steel bar, steel tube, and iron/steel cast components. Assembly: Assemble parts where necessary (e.g., screw conveyors, stub ends, and steel flights to tubes). Welding: Basic welding skills are desirable, as some components require welding during the assembly process. Skills & Experience Required: Time-served engineer with a background in machining, turning, or fitting. Experience working with a variety of machining tools and equipment. Ability to read and work from in-house prepared technical drawings. Experience with low-volume, high-precision manufacturing. Basic welding skills are an advantage but not essential. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additional Benefits: Holidays: 30 days per year, including bank holidays.
