About the Opportunity:
Jacobs is a market leader in the transportation sector. We are now looking for experienced highways design and discipline leads at Principal Engineer and Associate Director level to join our growing hub locations around the UK. As an experienced member of the team, you will support with both project delivery and the technical mentoring of our talent.
Responsibilities:
* Proactively driving technical excellence and safety in design within team deliverables.
* Championing opportunities for automation and process efficiencies in everything we do.
* On projects, lead and mentor a small team of designers.
* Generate bottom-up forecasts of project hours for your team or discipline by project.
* Coordinate the delivery of Civils highways design solutions to programme and budget.
* Collaborate with discipline leads globally to provide an integrated and best practice service to our clients.
* Line Management opportunities available for those interested.
Here's What You'll Need:
* Experience in managing engineering design solutions in transportation.
* Open and inclusive mindset.
* Technical experience of delivering local and/or major highways projects.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Ability to lead small project teams effectively.
* Thorough understanding of commonly used design standards.
* Sound knowledge of UK H&S legislation.
* Capable of managing a changing workload.
* Ability to work independently and effectively within a global multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience of financial management and control of projects.
* Attained a relevant professional qualification.
