Job overview
The Community Nursing Single Point of Access is a contact centre for Community Nursing Services within NHFT including District Nursing, Intermediate Care, and Specialist Palliative Care. The team is an integral service within Community Nursing.
The post holder will be working in an integrated skill mix team of both administrators and clinicians and will work closely with the Community Nursing teams. This is an important, customer-focused role involving acting as an interface with patients and their families as well as healthcare professionals and external stakeholders who wish to refer to NHFT Community Nursing Services.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has become available to join Northamptonshire Foundation NHS Trust's Staff Bank Team working within the Community Nursing Single Point of Access (SPoA). We are a small and friendly team looking to grow our team with people that are passionate about delivering excellent customer service. This is a busy, dynamic team, actively looking to recruit hardworking bank staff who enjoy a fast-paced environment. We need fun-loving and energetic people who are passionate about helping people to access the services they need. The role involves being the first point of contact for patients and health professionals who are calling to make contact with our Community Nursing Services; prioritising calls and addressing urgent needs using a clinical software programme whilst working closely with the clinicians.
The SPoA service currently runs 8-6pm, with potential bank shifts to be taken in shift patterns of 8am-4pm and 10am-6pm. You will need to be flexible working over shifts 7 days per week, Monday - Sunday.
Working for our organisation
The Trust has two Mental Health hospitals in Kettering (St Mary’s) and Northampton (Berrywood), three community hospitals in Corby, Wellingborough (Isebrook), and Daventry (Danetre), and a vast array of different services across these areas. Recent roles have included admin and clerical work in prisons, our new single point of access call centre, and ward admin at our Berrywood Hospital in Northampton and support to our finance team in Kettering. The availability of work changes on a day-to-day basis with new opportunities opening up each week.
We have a wide variety of temporary posts that will be both challenging and rewarding, including good rates of pay, flexible hours, training, and access to full NHS benefits. The bank is offered as a zero hours contract with no guarantee of work. We also offer Wagestream (an optional service to allow staff to access a percentage of their earned wages before the monthly pay date).
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will need to be organised and efficient and have excellent skills in using Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Candidates must be willing to learn new IT Systems as required and have good accurate typing skills.
If you feel that you would like to join our Staff Bank and have relevant experience and want to work in a busy fast-paced environment, we are eager to hear from you.
