We are seeking to recruit a proactive and enthusiastic Human Resources Business Partner, to lead on strategic and operational HR activity across Clinical Service Units. The post holder will play a key role in the overall delivery of HR activities trust-wide and contribute to the development of the HR Department as a whole.
Working collaboratively with senior managers, the post holder will work with service leads to support forward planning, workforce modernisation and transformation, and act as a driver of workforce information and improvement.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities will include:
* Development of workforce strategies based on service needs, key priorities and workforce issues which support the delivery of the Trust People Strategy, annual plans and the national People Plan.
* Developing a partnering approach to support the Trust, providing expert proactive and supportive advice to managers on strategic, tactical and operational HR issues.
* Management and oversight of investigations into complex employment issues such as bullying and harassment cases, disciplinary issues, capability and grievances, analysing, interpreting and assessing highly complex information and often conflicting evidence in order to reach appropriate decisions.
* Contributing to the annual business planning process, identifying workforce priorities that support and enable service objectives.
* Lead on the development and trust wide implementation of local and national policies and procedures.
* Influencing the development of departmental and management structures, ensuring decisions are made in line with Trust protocols and National Agenda for Change guidance.
* Managing staff within the HR Operations Team in order to ensure the effective operation of the team and seamless patient focused delivery of the service across the Trust.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of HR Business Partnering in a complex organisational environment
* Highly specialist knowledge of a range of complex HR topics including organisational change, transformation, etc.
* Significant experience of managing and advising on a diverse range of employee relations cases
* Experience of working with Trade Unions
* Previous experience of having worked in HR advisory role within the NHS.
* Experience of having dealt with and advised on the terms and conditions for Medical and Dental Staff and MHPS
* Experience of having worked with and advised Board Members
Skills
* Ability to prioritise and manage a heavy, varied and unpredictable workload on a day to day basis, responding to changes at short notice
Knowledge
* Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
* Understanding of Agenda for Change
Qualifications
* Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development Level 7 Diploma (or equivalent).
* Chartered member of the CIPD
* Graduate-level education or significant equivalent experience.
