Linux Systems Engineer
Warrington (Hybrid working)

This role is working for a business to business technology company that continues to keep pushing forward – both with growth and further investment meaning they are one of the known players across the UK in their industry. We’ve got a new permanent position and we’re looking to bring in a Linux Systems Engineer.
The key for this role is to have a blend of Linux admin, network monitoring and python development. Preferably, we’re looking for someone from an ISP or a hosting company who’ve had experience with on prem platforms. You’ll be joining a team of 2 and we’re looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running.
This is a permanent role, with one of the leading names in the industry so a great chance for the foot in the door, and it will offer both stability and progression – key points in the UK telecoms industry at the moment. The company is well funded, have their own network and a good blend of customers across enterprise, public sector and partners through the channel.
You’ll be supporting the Linux infrastructure, so will be looking after the virtualisation cluster and the associated servers but it isn’t just an admin role and you’ll also be supporting the network infrastructure functions such as RADIUS, DNS and the general service assurance.
To give a high level view of what we would ideally be looking for:
Linux Administration – Debian an advantage but we are flexible.
Infrastructure automation with Puppet being tool of choice
Python – not as a pure developer but having solid Python is going to really help as a lot of the automation is geared towards Python.
Kubernetes / Docker – not essential but would help.
Solid IP Networking knowledge
Hybrid working, you would likely be in the office 2/3 days per week, and it’s a normal Monday to Friday working hours. On that basis, you need to live within commuting range of Warrington.
