Job Description
HVAC System Engineering Service involves supporting all activities performed by engineers in the HVAC Systems team. These activities include:
1. Reviewing and updating system documentation, and formulating mechanical, electrical, nuclear safety, and control logic requirements in compliance with engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools.
2. Analyzing and verifying input data, requirements, and lessons learned from other stations.
3. Sizing components such as pumps, pipework, fans, tanks, and performing thermal hydraulic calculations and modeling with in-house or commercial tools.
4. Supporting procurement in formulating technical specifications and supplier surveillance, including modification and configuration management.
5. Managing modification requests to systems and assessing their applicability.
6. Developing and presenting technical solutions that support design stability strategies across disciplines.
7. Resolving technically challenging, multidisciplinary open points proactively and in a timely manner.
8. Designing I&C systems, including platform allocation, defining functional requirements, and cascading safety inputs to ensure safety compliance.
9. Using I&C tools to define logic, write test procedures, test controls, and define HMI in the control room.
10. Producing and updating I&C parts of the System Design Manual.
11. Performing peer reviews of I&C documents produced by team members.
12. Participating in commissioning strategy preparations and supporting commissioning teams with system inputs.
13. Engaging proactively with stakeholders to ensure HVAC systems meet all discipline requirements.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
* 3+ years of process engineering experience.
* Relevant experience in the nuclear industry.
* Ability to manage workload effectively, produce high-quality documents, and meet deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and oral.
* Proactive and confident in communicating remotely with teams in France and Germany.
* Ability to develop positive working relationships and seek continuous improvement in engineering quality.

* 12-month fixed-term contract with options to extend.
* Competitive salary.
* Location: Bristol.
* Option of 3 days on-site and 2 days WFH.
* 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
