Responsibilities:
- Possess a solid understanding of the Primary National Curriculum
- Support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across various abilities and requirements
- Provide individual or group support to SEND students, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively
- Offer personal care support when necessary
- Assist in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual student needs
- Support the social, emotional, and academic development of students
- Collaborate with teachers in implementing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adhere to school policies and procedures regarding safeguarding and behaviour management
- Establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to maintain clear communication
- Demonstrate initiative and seek guidance when necessary
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications or experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare)
- Experience supporting children with SEND in UK educational settings
- Attributes such as compassion, patience, empathy, and the ability to work proactively with students who may exhibit challenging behaviour
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Possession of an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service, or willingness to obtain one
