The Mental Health Support Worker Job
An Alternative Provision Centre in Croydon is looking for a Mental Health Support Worker to start after half term. This is a long-term, full-time position and will run for the remainder of the academic year. You will be working with young people across KS3 and KS4.
The Mental Health Support Worker Skills
This Alternative Provision or PRU is looking for a passionate and experienced Mental Health Support Worker who has a good understanding of young people's needs. You will be working in the secondary team supporting pupils on a 1:1 or classroom basis with their motivation and learning. You will have the opportunity to assist these students in activities that will further their independence and help them reintegrate back into mainstream school.

* There are five campuses across Croydon that specialise in dealing with young people who cannot be in mainstream school for various reasons.

The Mental Health Support Worker Ideal Applicant
* Strong behaviour management
* Experience being a mental health support worker is desirable but not essential
* Have a passion for teaching students who struggle with mainstream school
* Experience teaching within an alternative provisions environment or a secondary school environment
* A patient, calm and engaging classroom manner
* Strong communication skills
* Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application
