Designate Skilled Butcher
We are looking for a full-time Designate Skilled Butcher to join our Klondyke team.
Salary Competitive salary based on experience.
Hours 42.5 per week over 5 days including regular weekends.

Our Food Hall showcases the finest local produce, with a strong emphasis on quality, traditional butchery, and expert craftsmanship. We are seeking an experienced and passionate butcher who takes pride in their trade and can deliver the highest standards of preparation, presentation, and customer service.
The Role
As a skilled Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of fresh meats to the highest standard, ensuring quality, consistency, and excellent presentation. You will work closely with the Butchery team to create attractive displays, serve and advise customers, and help drive sales. You will also play a key role in maintaining stock levels, minimising waste, and upholding the highest food hygiene standards.
While your primary focus will be on butchery, you will also work as part of the wider food team, supporting the overall success of the food hall and collaborating with the restaurant, bakery, and deli to maintain a high standard across all fresh food departments.
Additionally you will be required to travel to any of our central Scotland centres as a relief butcher to cover absences, holidays, or business needs.
What you will be doing as a Designate Skilled Butcher
Preparing and cutting carcasses, expertly creating specific joints and cuts of meat
Planning production to ensure a well-stocked, visually appealing counter
Serving customers, offering expert advice, and making recommendations
Arranging and maintaining high-quality, eye-catching counter displays
Monitoring and ordering stock levels, as well as conducting weekly stock counts
Working efficiently to minimise waste and maximise yield
Ensuring all equipment and work areas are cleaned to the highest food hygiene standards
Closing down the butchery area each day, including preparation for the following day
