Axcis Education are working with a variety of schools in St Austell who are looking for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join their teams and provide essential support to students who need it most.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with class teachers to support children displaying challenging behaviour, helping them engage with the curriculum and build positive relationships.
2. Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to the needs of individual students, helping them develop self-regulation skills.
3. Provide 1:1 or small group support to children, promoting their emotional, social, and academic development.
4. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
5. Monitor and report on children’s progress, ensuring that individual needs are addressed and met.
6. Help students feel safe, supported, and valued within the school environment.
Essential Requirements:
1. Experience working with children, especially those with challenging behaviour, special educational needs, or emotional difficulties.
2. Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and an ability to stay calm under pressure.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students and collaborate with staff and families.
4. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children reach their potential, no matter their challenges.
5. A flexible, proactive approach to working in a dynamic school setting.
6. Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs, Autism, or behaviour management are desirable but not essential.
