Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager on behalf of an established regional civil engineering contractor to oversee delivery of projects across the West Midlands & North Midlands area.
The company specialises in heavy civil engineering solutions to a variety of sectors including: Water, Environment Agency, and local authority. They've acquired a strong workload from recent framework wins & are looking to add to their team with a new Project Manager. The contractor has grown a forward-thinking regional team - many of whom have come from larger contractor backgrounds in the Civil Engineering space.
This role is working within the Severn Trent Water framework delivery team - workload held currently until 2030 due to extensions. Workload is busy with dozens of sites across Staffordshire, Birmingham, Warwickshire, and surrounding areas.
Current projects include: large pipelines, shaft sinking, pumping stations, CSOs, storm tanks, deep drainage, RC works, water treatment works, etc.
Project Manager is a flexible working role with this business - meaning they have full expectation to plan their own diary. Work location can be a mixture of site, office & home trusting the work is done.
Duties/Responsibilities include:
1. Management of projects cradle to grave - values up to £10m as PC
2. Set example in health, safety, and environmental by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
3. Assist Contracts Manager with allocation of staff and sub-contractors
4. Programming and planning work
5. Communicating with the commercial team to control budgets & track costs
6. Issuing early warnings & compensation events
7. Working with Contracts Manager to ensure site targets are hit
8. Project reports for costs, contract changes & progress
9. Attend meetings with clients
10. Produce relevant documentation for sites
11. Checking of Site Manager's documentation & sites
Experience required:
1. Candidates must have proven experience at Project Manager level with a principal contractor on heavy civil engineering / infrastructure projects (values £5m+)
2. Experience managing deep drainage/pipework, heavy civils, or Water Treatment civils packages is essential
3. Experience with NEC 3 or NEC 4 contracts is essential
4. Industry related qualification is beneficial (HNC/HND or Degree).
5. Must hold: SMSTS, CSCS, and Full Driver's License.
Remuneration:
A salary of up to £70,000 (dependent upon experience) plus:
Company car or allowance £7,000, fuel card, annual leave, annual discretionary bonus, pension scheme & more.
