Summary
NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK’s leading independent engineering and services business, are a part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.
As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new vacancy for a Materials Coordinator to support the team in identifying material needs, coordinating their arrival onsite, and completing thorough audits and inspections on delivered materials.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
* Order and maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
* Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
* Coordinate with production teams, Building Leads, and Superintendents to identify material needs.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Manage storage space and optimize warehouse/white space areas.
* Conduct regular inventory audits, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare detailed reports on inventory status and material transactions.
* Develop and implement inventory controls.
* Liaise with logistics to coordinate transportation and delivery to and around site.
* Notify Area Construction Manager of any unresolved issues related to material shortages or delays.
* Attend required material coordination meetings (Daily/Weekly/4 Week lookahead).
What we’re looking for:
* HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering or proven experience.
* Experience in materials management or inventory control.
* Materials Coordinator experience.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Experience working on major construction projects/nuclear sites would also be beneficial.
