Working in the commercial department reporting to the Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing procurement processes, ensuring smooth and efficient purchasing operations.
As the Purchase Order Coordinator, you will be responsible for raising purchase orders and ensuring the best value for Lanes Group. You will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain cost-effectiveness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
Position: Purchase Order Coordinator
Location: Customer Solution Centre, Durrington, (Worthing, West Sussex)
Job Type: permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours (start times to be discussed in the interview)
Salary: Competitive, depending upon experience

About the Role:
Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer-focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to commercial and finance issues.
* To raise purchase orders in line with current approval processes
* To support new supplier onboarding process, including liaison with external suppliers and internal teams such as Health & Safety and Purchase Ledger
* To ensure the rigorous management of invoice and payment queries
* To efficiently apply for payments according to workload assigned by the Quantity Surveyors
* Preparation of any other reports relating to applications completed or queried which may be required
* To ensure that all applications are submitted to the Client in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with the relevant contract stipulations advised by the Quantity Surveyors
* To review and process payment applications from subcontractors timely and accurately, while ensuring best value for Lanes is achieved
* To identify and manage individual workload
* To contribute to the encouragement and development of a culture of contractual awareness
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
* Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties, tasks or projects as requested by the Business Performance Analyst or the Senior Leadership Team

About You:
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize your workload. Good communication and interpersonal, relationship-building, and networking skills are key.
