About the Role - We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information and supporting the Finance Manager in achieving the company’s financial goals. You will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Responsibilities -
* Financial Reporting and Analysis
* Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
* Perform variance analysis to highlight key trends, opportunities, and risks.
* Contribute to financial planning and forecasting activities.
* Accounts Maintenance
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
* Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
* Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation calculations.
* Compliance and Audit Support
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and audit schedules.
* Support external auditors by providing necessary documentation and reports.
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT returns and corporate tax preparation.
* Process Improvement
* Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, and controls.
* Collaborate with other departments to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Required Skills -
* Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
* Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Self-motivated with excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
