About the Role The People and Culture Business Partner will be a key connection with individual departments, building long-term working relationships with employees and leaders. This role is an opportunity to shape the working culture, providing expert advice and leading on improvement projects. Your expertise will support line managers to maintain a positive and high-performing working environment. Key Responsibilities Working primarily with our Research and Development department, but able to support other teams on a flexible basis, you will: Develop strong working relationships with line managers, meeting regularly to advise and coach on employee issues Provide analysis and information to inform data dashboards, regular reports and workforce development plans Drive a culture of positive performance, through engagement and talent management Take a lead role in embedding departmental skills matrices and mapping career pathways, to provide opportunities to develop potential talent Undertake casework, including leading investigations, and facilitating informal resolution of disciplinary and performance concerns Co-ordinate recruitment and talent management for the department, including recruitment events, with the support of the wider People and Culture team Design, deliver and co-ordinate training to small groups, with a focus on managerial skills Provide solutions to training and development needs, identifying appropriate external providers where required Assess current and future management capability – informing company strategy and structure Be an active participant in company-wide People and Culture programmes Contribute to the achievement of the People and Culture strategic objectives related to employee satisfaction, and our commitments as a certified B Corp Contribute to the review and development of company policies and procedures About You To thrive as our People and Culture Business Partner, you will: Have the ability to build trust and depth among specialist technology leaders Have demonstrable experience working at Business Partner or Senior Advisor level Be able to show your understanding of People and Culture best practice, employment law and effective people management approaches Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust for your audience Be confident in your problem solving and conflict resolution skills, able to influence and explain complex or sensitive subjects Have experience of working in an engineering or technology environment Have designed and maintained skills matrices or programmes to identify and develop career potential Be committed to delivering complex programmes, engaging key people across specialisms Have analytical and reporting skills, enabling you to track employee and project performance Possess the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion, handling sensitive information Act as fair and neutral people professional, capable of co-ordinating investigations as part of casework Have achieved CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent
