1:1 Teaching Assistant SEN GL1 Gloucester We work alongside a Primary School in central Gloucester who is currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with special educational needs. This is a role that is needed as soon as possible, and will involve working with a child in KS2 who has an EHCP plan, and therefore needs some additional support with their learning. This is going to be on a part time basis and will run from 8.30-12.30, Monday to Friday. The school needs someone with good work ethic, and someone who can self-motivate. The right individual will be flexible and adaptable with their methods of support as the child may display varying behaviors and so you need to have the confidence to deal with this and respond. Previous experience of working with children is essential for this role, and it is really beneficial to have worked with SEN before. Knowledge of EHCPs is also very beneficial What will you need to do on a daily basis? Work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Complement teachers’ delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of pupils and school policies and strategies. Ensure you are supporting your 1:1 child emotionally and academically, ensuring you display good curriculum knowledge. Make sure you promote good behaviours.
