The Deputy Director General will oversee the daily operations of ACG, ensuring that all processes and systems are functioning efficiently and effectively. Reporting directly to, and deputising for when needed the Director General, the role involves providing leadership and performance management to the ACG secretariat to ensure that ACG members are fully maximising the benefits of their membership. The Deputy Director General will be instrumental in developing strategies for operational improvements, managing budget, resources, and ensuring the delivery of the ACG Purpose and Strategic Objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement long-term operational strategies aligned with the ACG Purpose and Strategic Objectives.
2. Analyse and identify opportunities for process improvement to optimise productivity and reduce costs.
3. Lead, mentor, and develop the secretariat team, setting clear goals and performance expectations that align with ACG Purpose and Strategic Objectives.
4. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the ACG secretariat.
5. Ensure effective communication between secretariat, members and other industry stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the ACG Purpose and Strategic Objectives.
Process Optimisation:
1. Oversee the development and refinement of workflows, processes, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
2. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Budget & Resource Management:
1. Manage the ACG budget, liaising with the external resource and ACG Treasurer, ensuring financial objectives are met without compromising service quality to ACG members.
2. Oversee the allocation of resources, ensuring that resources are utilised effectively to best meet the ACG Purpose and Strategic Objectives.
3. Evaluate resource needs and make recommendations for staffing or technological investments.
Compliance & Risk Management:
1. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, quality standards, and internal policies.
2. Proactively manage and mitigate operational risks to prevent disruption.
3. Ensure that health, safety, and environmental standards are always maintained.
Member Satisfaction & Quality Control:
1. Develop and implement strategies to enhance ACG member satisfaction through operational and member liaison improvements.
2. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to member feedback, levels of industry stakeholder engagement and enforcement activity.
3. Address any member issues promptly and effectively to ensure a high level of member retention and satisfaction.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
1. Track and report on operational metrics, presenting findings to the Director General and the ACG Board of Directors.
2. Prepare and present regular reports on key operational initiatives, goals, and results.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally in a global brand, or a law enforcement environment. Knowledge and understanding of anti-counterfeiting and the intellectual property landscape is extremely desirable.
Skills:
1. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
2. Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and performance improvements.
3. Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision making.
4. Budget management and cost-control experience.

5. This role is offered as hybrid working. The ACG HQ is located in High Wycombe. The role will require travel to ACG annual events in the UK, the possibility of occasional international travel and travel to meetings in London and around the UK.
6. The position is offered on a full-time basis, although candidates wishing to work part-time will also be considered.
