Assistant Site Manager - Manchester
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and dedicated Assistant Site Manager to join our client, a leading housing provider. Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Site Manager in overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Monitor project progress and report any delays or issues to the Site Manager.
* Ensure all site documentation is up to date, including daily reports, site records, and risk assessments.
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
* Assist in managing site logistics and materials, ensuring that materials are available and delivered on time.
* Collaborate with project stakeholders, including internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Promote a strong culture of safety on site, ensuring safe working practices are always followed.
* Support in managing the project's progress, reporting on key milestones and addressing any challenges that arise.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in construction or a similar site management role is essential.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and site management practices.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet when issues arise.
* A proactive and adaptable attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop in the role.
Qualifications:
* A construction-related qualification (e.g., HNC, HND, or similar) is preferred but not essential.
* CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is essential.
* First Aid at Work certification.
