Test engineer

Job Description

Our client is expanding it's Test department and are on the lookout for a Test Engineer to join their team in Portland, relocation if necessary paid for.


In this role, you will be a vital link between the design and production departments and will actively contribute to defining test specifications, facilities, and processes. You will also play a key role in conducting tests across a diverse range of equipment, spanning from in-service systems to unique one-off and prototype designs.

Beyond these responsibilities, we would look to you to drive continuous improvements throughout our design, manufacturing, and test processes. This involves close collaboration with System Design Authorities, multi-disciplinary engineers, and production staff to champion the principles of 'Design for Manufacture' and 'Design for Test'.


1. Support and test of a range of bespoke products.
2. Create, review and improve Test Specifications to support current and future test requirements.
3. Identify process changes to enhance productivity, improve quality and reduce costs.
4. Support System Design Authorities in test and manufacturing readiness reviews and the development of products.
5. Transfer the testing of new products from engineering development to the manufacturing environment.
6. Operate test equipment and identify new test equipment which may improve efficiency where necessary.
