GP Receptionist Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
Join our friendly and supportive GP Surgery team as a Receptionist! You'll be the first point of contact for patients, delivering excellent customer service while managing key administrative tasks to support our clinicians and staff.
About You:
* Previous experience in a GP practice is essential.
* Professional, discreet, and capable of handling sensitive information responsibly.
* Rotational shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
* Positions: 1 Full-Time (37.5 hours) and 1 Part-Time (22.5 hours).

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
* Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
* Handle telephone and in-person inquiries professionally and efficiently.
* Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using the practice's system.
* Provide information about the practice's services and procedures.
* Administrative Duties
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
* Process patient registrations, including verifying personal details.
* Manage correspondence such as emails, letters, and referrals.
* Handle repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies.
* File and retrieve patient records and documents as needed.
* Operational Support
* Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling.
* Assist with preparing rooms and equipment for clinics when necessary.
* Record and manage patient arrivals and waiting lists.
* Address patient complaints or direct them to appropriate staff for resolution.
* Compliance and Confidentiality
* Adhere to all practice policies, including confidentiality and GDPR regulations.
* Ensure infection control measures are followed in the reception area.

Skills and Qualifications
* Previous experience in a healthcare or GP practice setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency in IT systems, particularly appointment booking software (EMIS).
* Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection regulations.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Training in customer service or administration.
Working Conditions
* Hours: Full-time/part-time as required, including occasional evenings or weekends.
* Environment: Office-based, within a GP surgery.
* Physical Requirements: Periods of sitting at a desk and interacting with patients, occasional light lifting.
