We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Senior Community Staff Nurse into our friendly and supportive team. You must have effective communication and negotiation skills. As an advocate for our patients, you need to have the ability to inspire people at all levels. This post requires an understanding of the expanding role of community nursing and a commitment to take it forward. You will need a sound understanding of the current primary care agenda, with excellent communication skills and effective leadership and decision-making skills. You will need to be innovative and able to work autonomously whilst promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for team members and students. This would be an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills in supporting the team leader.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for the ongoing assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care.
The post holder will carry out all relevant forms of care and will take responsibility for caseload holders in their absence. The management of the work area, clinical caseload, including supervision and development of staff.

Qualifications and Education
* First level Registered Nurse
* Educated to Degree level (Level 6)
* Evidence of continual professional development
* Nurse Prescriber
Knowledge and Training
* Post-registration experience to include evidence of mentoring, project working, specialist training, and management and development of others
* Good background knowledge of issues within the primary care area
* Willing to undertake Band 6 competencies
* Have knowledge of major NHS issues
* Demonstrate knowledge of research-based practice
Experience
* Experience of working in primary care and leading a community nursing team
* Experience of direct supervision of qualified and unqualified staff
