Our Story
Manchester City Women is an English football club initially founded by City in the Community in 1988. Relaunched by a formal partnership with Manchester City FC, MCWFC entered the FA Women’s Super League and professionalised in 2014. Success has followed in not only the FAWSL but also the Women’s FA Cup and Continental Tyres League Cup, while the team has regularly competed in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Our Winning Team
The team plays its home fixtures at Joie Stadium, a 7,000 capacity arena. The stadium sits on the wider Etihad Campus, which also encompasses the City Football Academy, a state-of-the-art training and development facility that houses its women’s, men’s and academy teams.

1. To build and maintain a winning Women’s first team, that consistently challenges for major titles, in the Man City playing style.
2. To lead and develop an outstanding team of coaches, talent ID specialists and football technical staff, who will be at the leading edge of the new era of women’s professional football.
3. To develop and oversee unrivalled scouting and technical programmes, for our 1st team and girl’s academy, to attract the best talent and develop world class players for our first team and the wider professional game.

Your Impact
4. To develop and lead staff and processes to identify, attract, recruit, and retain the best domestic and international talent for our Women’s 1st Team and girl’s academy. Whilst overseeing player pathways to ensure a pipeline of talent to our first team and drive player trading revenues.
5. To lead, inspire, motivate, and develop an outstanding team of coaches, talent ID specialists and football technical staff, by creating and delivering world class coach/practitioner development programmes, competency frameworks and consistent performance management practices.
6. To lead the development and delivery of an outstanding technical programme across our 1st team and academy, which implements the Man City style of play, and game model across the 1st team and girl’s academy. Ensuring the methodology is fully understood by all our coaches and practitioners.
7. To oversee the football elements of the individual development strategy, to ensure player and MDT, IDP planning, and delivery is fully integrated into the football technical programme.
8. To lead the negotiations for all player trading activity, recruiting world class talent to build and maintain a winning team, driving best value from our trading activities and creating a pipeline of talent to exponentially increase player trading revenues.
What we are looking for
Essential
9. Comprehensive knowledge of the latest scouting and recruitment processes and procedures.
10. Proven experience pitching to target players and negotiating contracts.
11. Comprehensive knowledge and experience working within professional football.
12. Experience leading teams of people within high performance sport, inspiring and motivating them to do their best work, to the highest standards.
13. Able to work quickly and calmly under pressure, adapting to rapidly changing demands and environments.
14. Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with players, staff, agents, and other key stakeholders.
15. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex strategies with clarity and simplicity.
16. Demonstrable experience of overseeing football technical programmes.
17. Possesses the drive to be the best in their field.
Desirable
18. Previous experience within a senior role, in professional football.
19. UEFA A or Pro Licence qualification.
20. Experience working within both academy and 1st team environments.
