Based at the Training Ground in Hurworth, Darlington, the main purpose of this role is to support the Medical Department in delivering a physiotherapy service to Academy level players, predominantly U9-U16s in clinic cover, rehab planning and match cover, alongside supporting PDP players as instructed by the Head Academy Physiotherapist.
THE ROLE:
1. To attend any relevant academy training and matches home or away as required.
2. To accompany players to hospital as required, reporting details back to the Academy Physiotherapist or Senior Academy Physiotherapist.
3. To assist in the co-ordination of the medical and orthopedic screening of U9-16 Academy players.
4. To assist in the physiotherapy service for the U9-16 Academy in assessing and diagnosing injury in academy players. Deliver gym-based and pitch-based rehabilitation to injured players alongside ongoing input for players within the U9-16 age groups.
5. To attend all appropriate briefings and training sessions organised by the Club.
6. To ensure compliance with current regulations and protocols relating to Safeguarding.
7. To keep an up-to-date and accurate record of Continued Professional Development (CPD) and maintain qualifications to practice pitch side first aid.
CANDIDATES SHOULD:
1. Hold a Degree in Physiotherapy, hold HCPC registration and be associated with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
2. Hold a valid First Aid Certificate such as FA ATMMiF or ITMMiF or be willing to complete.
3. Possess IT skills sufficient to manage the demands of online medical note-taking and documentation and efficiently use Microsoft software.
4. Have a flexible approach to working hours since evening and weekend work is essential to this role, with attendance at both home and away fixtures.
5. Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Have a high regard for confidentiality since this role can give access to privileged information at all levels.
7. The job holder must hold a full driving licence and have the use of a vehicle.
8. Be eligible to work in the UK.
