Our SAR Team in Basingstoke is a key part of UL Solutions' consumer, medical & information technologies division, specialising in testing consumer electronic products for the rate at which energy is absorbed by the human body when exposed to a radio frequency electromagnetic field. We are hiring a number of Interns to undertake testing in our labs over the summer, which is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world work experience and to get your hands on the latest technology in the the best lab set-up in the UK Responsibilities To undertake SAR testing of consumer electronic products and help with report writing and other consulting duties. The Laboratory Intern should be able to perform with minimum supervision once training is completed and should be able to tackle problems in a systematic way. To update the company work monitoring systems with accurate details and job status for each item of work for which the Technician is responsible Meet customer delivery requirements in all respects. To undertake any ad hoc duties as may be required. Any other duties as defined in the UL Solutions Staff Handbook and the Quality Control Manual. Qualifications You will be an Undergraduate or Postgraduate, ideally in a relatable degree such as Engineering, Science-related, Electronics or Electrical for example. The ideal candidate would be keen to work for an international company such as UL Solutions, to explore the experience of corporate business. An analytic and detail-oriented approach is ideal, as you'll need to able to follow strict guidelines during testing. You should be willing to learn new technical concepts and implement them. A team player, you'll excel at working with others and collaborating to achieve a common goal. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. IT skills: basic knowledge of Word, Excel would be ideal. Flexible to work in one of the following shifts (subject to change), working 3 days ON and 3 days OFF: Day Shift – 06:00 AM to 6:30 PM (TBC) Night Shift – 06:00 PM to 6:30 AM (TBC)
