Role Summary
An echocardiography assistant will work closely with the Physiology and existing Cardiographer team, helping to support outpatient clinics as well as streamline inpatient echo services.
The successful candidate should have a positive can-do approach and be able to thrive in a busy but often challenging environment and have a friendly approach dealing with our patients and visitors to the department. The post holder should be able to show a high level of professionalism whilst providing a consistently high-quality service to patients, staff and users of the Cardiology Department.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust at our Eastern site at Wonford.
We are a busy department providing a wide range of investigations and are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and hardworking echocardiography assistant to join our team.
The successful applicant will support the Physiology team, specifically with Echocardiography clinics. They will be taught how to perform a 12 lead ECG but their main duties will be assisting with the outpatient clinics, ensuring appropriate stock levels of consumables and then preparing the rooms and patients for their echocardiograms. The inpatient work will involve liaising with the ward teams to ensure timely and effective use of the echo service.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday; 08:30 to 17:00
This is a fixed term contract for 10 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
