Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist. The applicant will join the current team of seven Consultant Gastroenterologists, two Gastroenterology Specialty Doctors, two Nurse Endoscopists, six Upper GI Surgeons and seven Colorectal Surgeons, 3.5 IBD Clinical Nurse Specialists and an Upper GI Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist
The successful candidate will work within the team and the principle duties and responsibilities are:
Providing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI Endoscopy
Care for inpatients -Speciality based ward [predominately gastroenterology/IBD/hepatology}
Participate in governance, quality improvement, audit and teaching
Participate in the Gastroenterology on-call rota 1:8 including services for upper GI bleeding. No GIM commitment
The trust is looking to appoint a locum consultant to join an expanding and progressive department in a busy and innovative DGH. The Gastroenterology Service at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare is based primarily at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill. We provide a full range of endoscopy services which are provided in two endoscopy suites one sited on the East Surrey site and one at Crawley Hospital totalling 6 rooms.
