* Meet with the team Lead of a particular finance team to clarify the several strands of work to be done and pathways to achieve them. Develop a good relationship and clear communication for the future. Where a team Lead doesn’t exist, lead that finance team ensuring collaborative local decision-making.
* Work closely with local teams, lay and clergy, always under the oversight of the relevant Navigation team (the team that oversees the change in each deanery). Offer hands-on guidance and training as needed.
* Clarify the pathway these teams are on, give them confidence and encouragement on the journey. Be the technical expert on transitioning and the adoption of the new ways of working as a finance team.
* Check-in regularly with the Lead/teams to ensure progress and direction are all as expected; assist Lead with any remedial action or additional support/resources needed.
* Resolve issues where necessary, flagging any concerns.
* Train and equip the new PCC Treasurer to fulfil their role effectively.

* Draw in your Resources team colleagues as necessary for their items of expertise.
2. Being the primary budgeting lead
* Define and refine existing budgeting processes for parishes integrated into MFAO and work to enhance the budget functionality within the software.
* Develop training tools and resources for establishing and maturing the budget process, sensitive to the needs of parishes in different settings and with varied experience of budgeting.
* Lead on the budgeting process within the larger parish transition work detailed above.
* For single parishes, be the lead contact as they develop best-practice budgeting within the Mission Planning and Review (MPR) framework.
3. Facilitating the take up and skilled use of our accounting software
* Mastery of MyFundAccounting.Online so as to assist in the delivery and development of training modules.

* Keeping abreast of current financial and governance requirements and stewardship thinking within the Church of England and for ensuring ongoing advice and best practice is shared with parishes.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Resources team and across St James’ House to assist parishes to grow diverse and new income streams.
* Playing an active part in the national network of Anglican giving advisors and implementing the strategy of the National Giving Team.
* Such other tasks as might be determined by the Director of Stewardship.
