About the Role:
Protocol Education is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Qualified History Teacher to join a dynamic and well-respected school in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher (NQT/ECT) to inspire and engage students in the fascinating study of history, fostering a love for learning and critical thinking.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential for KS5 teaching depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to making history engaging and accessible for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning and delivering engaging and challenging history lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
* Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress and attainment.
* Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
* Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
* Supporting extracurricular activities such as history clubs, trips, or workshops.
* Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to department planning.
What We’re Looking For:
* A recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS).
* A degree in History or a related field.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service Subscription
* Strong knowledge of the History curriculum for secondary education.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level History is desirable.
