SEN & Pastoral Administrator and Clerk to Governors - required December 2024 Hours: 37 hours per week Salary range: Grade 5, Scale points 11 to 17 £25,979 - £28,770 (Actual pro rata salary: £22,918 - £25,380) Contract: Permanent, Full time with 5 inset days and 5 days in the school holiday The Role We are seeking an exceptional, highly motivated and hard working individual to join our team. The post requires someone calm, who thrives working under pressure and can multi-task, and enjoys constantly changing demands. You must have a strong secretarial or administrative background with excellent communication skills as you will be a principal contact for parents/carers in relation to pupil welfare, behaviour and barriers to learning. This is a key role in the school with involvement in the SENCO and pastoral areas combined with the Clerk to Governors responsibilities. You will be required to assist with the smooth running of the school office and offer high-quality support. Key Responsibilities: Referrals to external agencies Behaviour/SEN profiles regularly updated Supporting the Head of Pastoral Care and SENCO - arranging meetings and typing minutes Oversee calendars for the Head of Pastoral Care and SENCO Actively support both Head of Pastoral Care and SENCO within their roles Manage/monitor the Single Central Record and meet with the safeguarding governor Effectively work with the Chair of Governors, and with the headteacher and other governors for the Clerk to Governor role About you: Qualifications in Maths and English. The post-holder will need good interpersonal skills and be able to work as an effective team member with the ability to work independently and show initiative. Assertiveness, discretion and good communication skills will be essential. These qualities could come from a variety of backgrounds and will preferably include an understanding of young people and a willingness to uphold the school values, with high expectations for all. The post-holder will need to be computer-literate and have a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and google computer systems (and the ability to adapt to new software packages) A three-day First Aid at Work qualification (note: training for this can be provided).
